Upgrading existing car

Dear RFDers,

I know it's not the best time to buy a car right now. It got me thinking about upgrading the internal components in my current car to make it more modern. I thought about maybe keeping the car for another 3-5 years.
I am not talking Pimp My Ride levels but things such as an aftermarket radio with Apple Carplay/Android Auto support, potentially leather seats.
I'd like to know if anyone has gone this route looking at current situation of the auto market. If so, what tipped you over into making such a decision?

What year/make of car?
Could be a good idea to make it a bit more tech friendly that way.

Crutchfield is a good tool to find head unit that fits your car along with any wiring or kits required to make it plug and play.

most car audio shop can get you what you need, head unit, speakers, amp, etc. If you're in the GTA, auto-links and audioheaven come to mind, I'm sure there are many others.
