Upgrading galaxy s7 to android 9

So i didn't think about it at all and just told my samsung galaxy s7 from android 7 to android 9.
After it's done is there anything i should to to ensure everything works smoothly? I assume to be totally sure i should perform a reset to factory defaults and start over but i'd rather avoid that if the general consensus is that you don't have to.
