USB-C to USB-A cable for LG G5

I'm trying to figure out if a USB-C to USB-A cable is safe for the LG G5. This is the cable in question:

http://www.primecables.com/p-352841-cab ... #sku358215

According to the Benson Leung spreadsheet, this cable was verified with CheckR to be ok.

From what I understand, USB-C allows the phone to charge at a higher rate but USB-A ports may not be able to supply the power at the higher rate, causing damage to the USB-A port. The use of a 56 ohm resistor in the cable is supposed to act as a safeguard against this - it's not the only thing but it's the main one most people talk about. The cable in question has that resistor, so it should be safe, right?

But the second part which is confusing to me is the "Quick Charge 3.0" implementation in the G5. The implemnation for QC3 may violate the USB-C specs, so does that mean a USB-C to USB-A cable needs specific characteristics to be used with the G5? i.e. Can I only buy an official cable from LG for it?

If anyone has any experience with this or can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
