Which to use for a motorcycle, carfax or carproof? Any others better for a bike?

I'm buying my first bike and I'm wondering which of the two (or potentially more) to use. I'm basically looking if there are any liens on the bike (I expect to see one, but the seller and I will be heading to her bank to pay off the loan together). Also checking if there are any accidents and how many owners have registered it.

I've never used one of these information services before. Is one better than the other??

Thanks!

I'm in Calgary. I don't think it's mandatory for anything here, but I could be wrong. Why do you say carfax is useless here?

it doesnt list accidents. this is common knowledge. if you are taking care of the lien you may not need expensive carproof. if i recall, it was only $20 if you only check for accidents. not all accidents go through insurance though.

Does Alberta have a UVIP like we do here in Ontario? Used Vehicle Information Package, it's $20(I think) and will show if there's any liens on the vehicle.
