They are fancier than regular Vachon billot - logs because they are family sized and icing-coated (except the mini ones that are naked). The regular billot - log is small and coconut-coated.

Yes, but they have history: (European/UK-origin) people used to bake them at home. I remember my mother baking them in the 70's but it's too much fuss for most people now. There are a lot of brands available in Europe come Christmas but only the Vachon ones here.

Richmond hill !:) bayview and major Mac Walmart! Right in the front of the store, Other people said they saw them other places but so far I’ve only seen and gotten them there ! Hope this helps

It isn't mine either. Must not have been a BC thing? I never heard of these Vachon logs until reading this thread lol.

It's a full 2L like a Chapmans brick but cylindrical!
Even Chapmans failed cylinder wasn't a full 2L!

The packaging is French primary, English secondary. There is a caramel flavour variant available too, but most likely Quebec only.

I ended up grabbing another log at my local Walmart. Stock was down to 3 units. They are easily recreated with a cake roll from T&T, and some icing.
