Fiji Airways way of saying 'hello' to Vancouver with a new route to Fiji.

I suggest booking with the airline directly to avoid any intermediary should any problem arise.

I do not plan to get that deal but if I would, being from Montreal, I would look into the Canadian discount carriers like Flair and Swoop (from another city) to get to Vancouver.

Edit: I would schedule a few days in Vancouver on my way out and a day to rest on my way back. Thanks to Ron for the reminder. That's what I usually do for a positioning flight.

Be careful using a discount (or any other right now) carrier to connect... give yourself lots of time. If you're delayed or flight is cancelled... you won't be protected on the Fiji Airlines flight and you will lose your ticket.

If this was YYC I'd be all over it. Great deal for those in YVR!

It might be the trip of a life time. Live a little, why don't you hop from YYC to YVR? You can thank me later. :)

It's supposed to be pleasant. Don't make it a living Hell. Cut the 35 hours flight time by scheduling stops.

How good are Flair and Swoop? One has to pay for seats and baggage? I also heard people had issues with lost baggage and poor customer service.

Seems like it has to go to San Fran first before going off to Fiji?
