SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
POSITION: TRAFFIC ATTENDANT
NUMBER OF POSITION: Approx. 10 positions available
NORMAL HOURS OF WORK: Ranging approx. 10 - 20 hours per week, including weekends
RATE OF PAY: $17.80 per hour
DURATION: Approx. from April 18/06 to Sept. 30/06
APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 10, 2006
POSITION SUMMARY
To direct vehicles, passengers and general access to and from cruise terminals, including customs and other restricted areas. Perform other duties with respect to the requirements of the passenger, cruise lines and other users of the cruise terminals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be a full-time student enrolled in a post secondary institution with 6 months related experience. Traffic control training is required, and successful completion of Super Host course, knowledge of a second language and possession of a first aid ticket would be considered an asset. Student positions are available to individuals who are soon to enter the workforce on a permanent basis, and are designed to provide gainful experience.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
Must be a customer-service oriented individual with the ability to work in a team environment Must have a good command of the English language and present a neat, professional appearance. Must possess an assertive yet courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful manner. Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, and perform duties with minimum supervision. Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with public in a variety of situations. Must be a quick learner who works well both independently and in conjunction with others.
