I have an MBA M1 and have used this for my TimeMachine® back-up. It's fast. I'd say at least warm.
Why can't we all just get along?

Likely received the $100 student voucher for signing up to Costco, and applied it towards the price of the 2-pack of the T5 on sale on costco.ca for $260.

Basically. The offer worked with renewals too.

Correct me if I am missing something. But isn't that offer basically giving you $100 off when you pay $100 for the membership? So ideally you are still $260 for 2-pack of T5s?

If that's the case, It sounds like a not-so-good deal as I would imagine - $140 T7 > $130 T5.

My membership was due for renewal that month anyway so I was spending the $60 regardless. The coupon was a bonus.

If you're not a Costco member, you can still sign up for one for $60 and then refund it a week later. You do get locked out of getting a new membership for 18 months.

Picked it up from Staples today, might want to check the link as the sale ends on the 2nd I believe. Can't order online but a store near me and a few others in the city each had 1 in stock. Used the $10 coupon as well

Got the crucial X8 on amazon for 124.99. Is this worth the 5-15$ more?

imho, yes

Crucial X8 uses QLC NAND memory, this is lower native write speed and less write cycles.

Samsung T7 uses TLC NAND memory, faster native write speed and more write cycles.

Crucial will slow down a lot when lots of data is being written to it, Samsung will slow down but not as much.

Samsung is supposed to be one of the cooler running SSDs.

Have been using the T7 as external storage for PS4 for the past week, compared to the external HDD, its quite a bit faster so its a vast improvement.

Hmm thanks! It will be used on a Xbox series S so maybe I should go ahead and return that and get the t7 instead.
