At the moment VH Sauce bottles (341-380mL) are on sale at multiple retailers including Food Basics ($1.88), FreshCo ($2.00) and Metro ($1.99).

Checkout51 has a rebate for $1 off VH Sauce (341-380mL) (Claim one time per account) which can be redeemed after purchase.

SmartSource has a printable coupon for $1 off VH Sauce (341-380mL).

If bought at Food Basics you will net $0.12, or free otherwise.

I personally like to have a bottle of plum sauce on hand.

Would retailers actually give money if sub total is below 0, or you simply get the product for free?

You still pay $0.88, you just get $1 later from c51

Personally, used it a few times and now I find it disgusting. Had a few expire in the cupboard. Won't buy it even if getting paid to do so.

This was a couple years ago. I recall trying quite a few of them .. both indian and chinese flavors. At first, it tasted ok. But after a few uses, I could taste the preservative or something off about it in all their sauces.
I did try adding to it, but still couldn't get that taste out of it.

Your question itself has been answered but if a particular item is discounted that much they are suppose to only subtract the amount to make it 0$. So the item is 88 cent and the coupon is 1$. Then they subtract 88 cents. Sometimes the cashier is unaware and they just subtract 1$ off the total bill considering I was purchasing other items. So extra 12 cents off my other purchases.

That's annoying. Last week on c051 the $1 rebate on Vh was exclusive to metro purchases only. I mean I still got 6 bottles for 88cents each but the cheapo in me is grumbling lol

Buy the sauce with a bunch of other items, that way you will maximize the coupon as usually some cashiers don't check the product price, just the coupon price and deduct the $1

Same... I got a bunch last week with the coupon but was mad I couldn't get C51 too. Got Pam on discount last week too with coupon. Now it's on C51 but not on sale. Oh well. I got another free VH.. and I'll have made money on swiffer dusters. ($4.49 at my local FreshCo not sure if store wide. Plus Smart source has a $3 coupon and C51 has $3 cash back)

Coupon still works, but I bought a coconut yellow curry and checkout 51 wouldn’t accept it when I scanned the product. Doesn’t make sense to me since the offer didn’t specify which flavour, although the picture is some mango sauce. I recommend scanning checkout 51 in store before purchasing

I had the same issue when i claimed the becel offer . Problem was resolved within 30 min after i sent them ticket . Maybe you should contact them as well , hopefully they will get it fixed.

Thanks. I did submit a ticket and just heard back. They approved it and I got $1 in my account now. Took less than 24 hours.

I just noticed in the Sobeys flyer this week - they have the pouches of sauce 2 for $3 - that could potentially make this even sweeter. I personally like their plum and the garlic rib sauce is fantastico!
