This isn't a deal, it's their usual price they've had for a while

I'm not sure I understand. In the end, do you pay 29.95$ x 4 or just 29.95$ for the 4 different cellphones?

this is normal, the $55 plan is 4+1GB (used to be 4+2 before December, iirc).

The 2GB plan is $44.95, and then you get the $15 discount by having 4 lines on the same account. That's the normal Family discount.

The 2GB 44.95 plan wasn't previously eligible for the multi line discount. This is indeed a pretty hot deal if you can group 4 lines that don't need phones.

So in essence, each one is paying roughly $15 + $30 = $45 for 2GB - but not 8GB shared among the 4 users.

I don't see the deal here at all.

Zoomer has the $36 for 2GB plan quite frequently - and after 6 months, one can request the loyalty plan for $45 with 4GB.

Hope I am not missing anything here.

^ It's 30$ per BYOP line. Not 45.

I've never seen nationwide coverage voice and 2GB for 30$

I wish they would bring back there $49 for 6gb plan they had in Sept / Oct. Would like to sign my wife up and get the $5 discount on each plan (because of the Family discount) and have 6gb at $45 for each of us... now that would be sweet.

Yes it was. Anything 2GB and above was eligible.

My bad you're probably right on the 2GB; my issue was the price plan cost.
The minimum allowable plan for a multi line discount was not 45$. It was either 50 or 55.

Ie. They couldn't group my friend's 45$ 1GB plan on a family plan.

That's probably correct. It always was applicable on any plan 2GB and above.
Missed the $50 for 6GB plan by one day. Ended up with the $55 for 4+2GB (additional data does not expire) plan with 4 so paying $180 after tax for 4 lines with 6GB each.

Videotron Business has the double-data promo on now, but I don't think they have family discounts

It's 4 individual lines.
Each one gets their own line and data.
So think of it as a group discount, buy 4 and get it at 30$ per person.

Seems hot to me.

Gather your loved ones
Gather 4 people together, and take advantage of our best offer yet.

Keep your data—all to yourself!
Each Mobile plan is distinct, so you don't have to share your data, or your minutes.

Manage your account without worrying about theirs
Each plan user can log on to their very own Customer Centre account.

also 7$/1 GB, so 37$ for 3 GB

So what happens if you gather 3 friends, activate 4 lines at the discounted rate and then later on your friends cancel / port out, etc? Are they going to reduce the discount accordingly?

They going to reduce to 10$ off for 3 lines.

The discount goes like this:

2 people = 5$ discount per line
3 people = 10$ discount per line
4-7 people = 15$ discount per line

Should also note that Videotron treats Ottawa/NCR as being in QC, so people are eligible as well. It doesn't go as far as Carleton Place, and not all of Russell or Manotick yet, it does reach Barrhaven/Kanata for sure.

You can add a family member or friend that has a premium plan, that comes with a free/discounted smartphone. I have Videotron with 4 people on my account, both my fiancée and I have the BYOD 6GB plans at $48.95-$15 = $33.95/per line/month. The 3rd member has the 8GB BYOD plan for $55.95-$15= $40.95/month and the 4th member has the 6GB Premium plan (with a S8 phone) and pays $77.95-$15= $62.95/month

6 GB for $33.95+tax/month is a hot deal. $29.95+tax/month for 2GB is OK. I'm located in Ottawa, and never had any service issues.
