The problem I have with Amazon shopping for hard drives are the horror stories with packaging people post. Lose hard drives moving around in the box. I think it would be safer getting it from CC because it should arrive at the store in large padded boxes.

Thought I read somewhere these are loud vs WD Red Pro. Any first hand experience either way here?

Grabbed 6 of these last month when it was the same price. All working well in an unRaid system. Drives are a bit loud but it's tucked in the utility room anyway

They are loud yes but also depends on your case. If you have a Fractal that has the rubber washers its dulled out pretty good. I have 6 of these in a server but thankfully not sitting next to me so noise isn't a huge concern. Not sure I'd put this in my desktop that I sit next to

Curious if you can use these in solo mode without issue?
