2022 L.A. Auto Show: The smaller two Vinfast models are also the brand's latest offerings. Designed in-house by Vinfast, these ones actually might be a tad better looking than the Pininfarina-designed VF8 and VF9.

Battery leasing may be appealing to some people who worry about battery longevity though.
And it allows people to own the car without the concern 'is this fast charging session gonna damage my battery lifespan' that some other EV owners (including me) have.
Another advantage is the potential for battery upgrade down the road when better technology comes out, of course probably at a higher monthly rental fee.
But I would rather just lease the entire car...

I have mentioned this before. But here we go again.
Problem 1:
When you are ready to get rid of the car, the next guy who's buying it now need to pay monthly on the battery as well. So you are selling car but a lease transfer on the battery. What a hassle.
Problem 2:
What if Vinfast pulled a Suzuki? Officially you don't own the battery so you are left with a shell?
Problem 3:
If Vinfast pulled a Netflix and raise the battery lease by $100, what's that going to do to the value of your car?
Lease the whole car or let someone buy it. None of this half way BS.

As long as they keep their battery leasing scheme it's a hard pass.
They do have an outright purchase option. The pricing for the other models seems a little ambitious for a new brand with zero reputation here in North America though.

If they go tits up, how do they get their battery back? If they raise the lease price, again, what manner do they have to collect on that? Netflix just cancels my access.

I assume Vinfast will keep your car connected via 4G, like all cars today. If Elon can turn off your car, Vinfast will certainly keep that option.
