Virgin - 45$ unlimited Canada-wide talk & text /1GB data - QC only

Never saw this deal in here so here it is:

Virgin is offering a 45$ 1GB data and unlimited everything to Canada. Bring your own device and makes it 40.50$.

If you need an extra GB, it will cost you 10$/GB. This offer only applies to Quebec. To see the deal, go to the virgin mobile website, make sure you have the Quebec province selected.

A comparative plan in Ontario is $65 but with 2GB. Foiled again Ontario!

Maybe I'm a noob at this, but why do these plans defer province to province? I would assume conditions of doing business doesn't vary that much province to province. It sucks to see some provinces getting shafted.

Being canada wide, you could get it. But this plan is mostly to compete againsts Koodo's plan. It offers exactly the same thing.

If I had a choice between being able to enter free prize draws and cheaper phone plans, I'd go with the latter.

Finally QC doesn't get the short end of the stick this time =)

It looks like the deal is now $50. Hm. (Still better than the deals out in BC... the land that Regional competitors forgot)

It's called competition. The reason there are better deals in QC is due to the presence of the Videotron colossus, who puts out better deals than their competitors to put pressure on them. Little to no one else in Canada is big enough to rival the big 3.

The 45 dollar deal is on the silver plans. I think this just means you have a smaller, or nill, phone subsidy. There's a 50 dollar plan in the gold section too.

See above. It's because of the Péladeau family.

Thunderbay, Ontario has a better plan ( I think) for $60/month (6 GB data but I'm not sure what else is included). BYOD for 10% discount seems to be available across Virgin Mobile plans.

They should boast about their great cellphone/data plans on the front page.

Nice being directed to :) thanks! You are right and also Koodo has a sk/mb plan that blows this measly 1Gb out of the water.
