A few terms:

-You cannot have the 10GB $60 plan.

-You can be a BYOD or Term contract customer, existing customers YMMV.

UPDATE: Some users are reporting that they are able to get this deal on the $60/10GB plan. YMMV.

Do you have any more information? Can I simply mention the credit and they'll likely give it to me or do I need to play the threaten to leave game?

No, you do not need to mention you will cancel. All you will need to do is mention there maybe a 10$ bill credit for you for 12 m/o and a regular CSR will help you, if they don't help you, transfer to Loy & Solutions

Is the $10, part of the new activation credit? I tried calling and the loyalty person said I can offer you the $10 for 3 months. That's so petty.

Just got off the phone with a very helpful Virgin rep. She explained my account wasn't eligible but then asked for me to hold while she tries to get approval to apply the credit. maybe 5 minutes of on hold when she returned to let me know she was able to get the approval to apply it. Easy Peasy. Thanks OP

To each their own opinion, I guess you couldn’t of taken advantage of this deal for $10 off your bill. This isn’t a plan, this is a rebate or a “bill credit” and this is an add on to your current plan.

I called virgin couple of days ago and they added the 10 dollars credit but it doesn't show on my account when check it on my cell

You should be able to call Virgin up and just ask them if it’s “live” on their side
