Not an exact extension. Previously their $50 plan was unlimited minutes, now only 500 minutes

Can we get this deal if we are on a contract. Or is this strictly BYOP.

I am an existing customer on a month-to-month plan and just received a rate increase from Virgin. Do you think they will give me this plan if I ask even though I'm not a new customer?

My brother was on the $45 BYOP 750mb/month, etc. Virgin raised the rate on him as well. He was able to and did change over to the $50 but 2GB, unlimited anytime mins. He did this last week though.
So you should be able to change plans.

I'm an existing member on a gold plan. I switched last week to one of the limited time offer gold plans even though it said that it was for new activations only. They don't seem to care or enforce that rule. Only took a couple minutes with the CSR.

Was your phone paid off or on contract. My phone is not paid off and they refused to give me this deal.

I would beware of Virgin, I've been with them 6 months and all of a sudden they increased my plan by $5 because I use a blackberry, the same phone that I used 6 months ago when I signed up with them.

Most people should have seen the $5 increase in their plans. These limited time offer plans make up for it though, especially the $2/5 for 1/2GB add-on (not sure if still available).

Nope. If you were actually with Virgin, you would know.

Data add-on is still available as of this morning. Both my girlfriend and I called in to change to the BYOP 40 plan (our old plan went up by $3) and we were both able to add the $2/1 Gb data promo. Took some work to get past the first CSRs to retentions but after that, very easy. $42 for 500 minutes/2 Gb.

They switched my wife over from an existing BYOP plan, no questions asked. Took 10 seconds at a kiosk.
