LTE capped at 3mbps with good latency.
For everyday use, it is not bad. For a plan with 5GB/m, I will not use it for downloading huge files or watch video over wireless data anyway.
I switched my son to Public from Zoomer Wireless on Rogers LTE 6 months ago. He is fine with the service even he watch video on his iPhone. PM is prepaid service without pay-per-use. When he finished his 5GB data, he will use WiFi until next billing cycle to start. When he was with Zoomer, he continue to use data and I have to pay overage data.

Thanks, I appreciate the tip but I do enough occasional traveling that a roam like home feature is pretty much essential. Besides, I've been getting phones from Koodo long enough... If they can provide me with a decent plan I won't feel so slimy everytime I sign and drop.

Let’s start emailing the CEOs of these companies directly with our dislike of these price increases.

All of them TELUS, Bell, and Rogers.

I know the president’s office normally doesn’t like hearing complaints and follow up.

Maybe we can turn this around.... if not at least make it difficult for the CEOs to ignore!

I'm kind of tempted to grab the $25 silver plan.
$25/month for unl cw talk/text + Samsung A5 w/ $300 GC (it's $225 right now but should prob go to $300 mid march)
Sell the phone, use the GC for prepaid visa and then just drop that money on the Virgin account.
Plan basically paid for, for the next 2 years.
Koodo, Fido, Telus, Public Mobile, Virgin customer.

I want to update, after wasting A LOT of time with Virgin reps in person and on the phone, the girlfriend signed up with Zoomer wireless. I've been with them before Koodo had they're $40/8gb promo and had no issues.

Went on their chat and said a family friend is on a $36/4gb plan and that I was interested in the same plan.
Within 10 mins we were good to go. No beating around the bush.

400 Canada-wide Weekday Minutes
Unlimited after 6PM
Unlimited Outgoing Text from Canada to Canada/US/International
Unlimited MMS
4 GB Data Usage
2Yr contract
Free LG Q6 (which she will sell to offset any contract penalties down the road)
Zommer $25 referral bonus

$40.XX after taxes

In all seriousness though, do these emails ever truly make it to the CEO? I'm guessing some exec assistant manages email and mass deletes this stuff. In my (mgmt bloated) company, all the way down to Director level has admins for managing email! That's like 4 levels below: CEO >> VP >> GM >>> Director.

Seems like the only way to get anything changed now is massive social media/newsmedia pressure since the companies def don't care and the CRTC is neutered to Dog Heaven and back.

I was thinking of hopping around to Virgin/Lucky, but Koodo hasn't changed any of the various plans our house has had yet (some old Koodo plans, new Koodo plans, PM migration plans) so Devil you know and all that, I suppose...
