I switched virgin last month with 8gb $25 plan. It was byop 55 8 gb with $30 credit. Asked via chat for this deal and agent said he switched byop 55 8gb with this new byop 55 20gb plan and $30 credit will still apply.

Basically it will be 20gb for $25. Just wanted to let people know with same plan from last month.

Was anyone able to get $35/20GB adjusted to $30/20GB? People in the Fido thread said they were able to price match. I tried calling Virgin but the retention guy said he couldn't do it. I tried going in store but they have system issues and can't access my account.

Kinda annoying since I originally planned to get today but did it the other day earlier and now I'm getting a worse deal.

Might just go back to Fido if they can't figure it out.

Would you be on the hook for the activation/connection fee?

The rep at the store said that they won't charge me for it since I'm just switching a day later, but idk if I can just trust his words.

Additionally, the phone rep said that they can't do it, but the store rep might be able to because they offered the plan. Kinda weird, but store rep couldnt even try due to system wide issues and I couldn't hang around any longer since I had to get back to work.

They care for those that aren't carrying subsidies/financing on their phones which sadly majority do due to overly leveraging themselves financially just to keep up with social media.

And why would you think that Bell will not do the same about overage?

I am at mall to get either virgin or Fido plan. They look like identical but anyone know what difference and which one is better to go? As for virgin referral, is a phone number and name sufficient I should ask my friend to give me in order to sign up?

I was previously on Fido and the plans are basically identical.

Fido/Rogers allows wifi calling while out of Canada from what I understand. I never tried that. Freedom definitely works for that.

Fido also stops data overage after you reach your limit. Virgin charges you.

Service coverage quality may be a YMMV depending on where you spend the most time. A referral for either provider requires a specific link.

Anyone know if virgin’s promo up to 11/29 too? Apparently Fido is till 11/29 so virgin might match it, my guess. It is better to have a referral on hand before signing up for extra saving

I used the website chat to ask if I can get my plan matched from $35 to $30 and after a lot of back and forth, a specialist care agent offered me a "1-time $75 courtesy credit" to cover for the difference. I'm not sure if this is a bulk credit or over the 15 months, but I'll take it. Had to threaten to switch to Fido to get it.

Your friend needs to register online to be able to refer friends. Once they do that, they'll get a link they can share with you. You would then enter your email using that link. This is all done BEFORE signing up with Virgin. AFTER you sign up with Virgin and AFTER you move your number over, revisit that link and enter your number. If virgin gave you a temporary number before porting over your actual number, DO NOT enter that number in the link. Only enter the number you plan on using.

This is all in the terms and conditions when your friend sends you the link.

I chat and talked to a account specialist last night and didn't get anything. Felt defeated.

This is a BYOD plan, there is no early cancellation fee since there is no subsidized device included in the agreement.
