Great deal for those who were on old plans, move back down to plans where cost won't be rising with the increase. Also good for new activations for phones right now. There is still $50 off any phone instore ATM, with a $230 trade-in credit on the S7. Alot of instore credits on a variety of midrange phones atm.

This is a great deal, wish Koodo is offering something similar.

Dang, definitely reasonable in this day and age for $50 for unlimited talk + txt and 2Gb datas..

How I long for the days of $50/month for unlimited talk + txt and 6gb data!

Sad to see you get less for the same $$ per monthly plan

Says the $40 for 500/1GB is for new activations only. Is there a way I can get it if already a Virgin customer without a lot of hassle?

Reception is pretty good.
+1 they use bell. I just called bell and retentions could not match as they dont price match and their retention plans are for 1gb or 2.5gb and are more expensive so I'm jumping ship to virgin. Don't even have to unlock my bell phone :)

Why are people waiting for koodo to match? Virgin has their member benefits (cheaper starbucks and seasonal movie ticket discounts.)
What does koodo provide that virgin doesn't have? Don't Bell and Telus share towers? Signal would be the same?

More of a comment about them matching prices to the dollar.

Right... but you don't get all the perks that virgin includes for free... so even if your monthly price is the same, you are getting less with koodo.
Virgin mobile benefits are awesome. I'd totally take this plan if I weren't already with zoomer on contract. (bell/telus get better signal where I live vs rogers.)

I think if people are already with Telus or Koodo - they prefer to stay with them vs. Switching.

This way, you don't need to go through the hassle of setting up a new account, credit check, number porting, new carrier sim etc...

Is it possible to sign up now but activate later? My billing cycle with current provider just started about a week ago.
