Which so little data? I prefer my 6GB with Rogers, especially on the faster LTE Max.

Retentions data plan vs an on-market plan.

It seems the big 3 want to charge you for having lots of data. If we don't see 6gb promo plans for the iPhone 5S i'd consider it dead outside of retentions.

Typo in our plan details: $50 has 600 Canada-wide minutes.

I have a year left on my contract. I'm tempted to switch from my $55 plan to the $39 plan. I'd probably have to payout the last year of my contract... I'd also save 16/month. i'd loose 400 megs of data (that I rarely use) and acquire Canada Wide minutes which is less annoying than my current list of 10 unlimited people.

Gold 39 is the way to go unless you use more than 1.8GB/month. (The chart below assumes you're getting the 10% BYOD discount off the main component of the plan. BYOD doesn't apply to overages.)

Probably doesn't apply for many people since data > voice nowadays but the $50 plan does have a ton more minutes if somebody actually uses them + free incoming.

Speaking of 6GB of data, what do you guys use your phones for to use up that much data? Hotspot for computer at home?

Not trying to dis anyone, genuinely interested.

When I had unlimited data with Wind I barely went over 1GB a month, and that was with downloading all apps and updates through the cell network. I don't do that anymore with Fido's $39 plan (600MB), but even last month I didn't go over 500MB, and I do quite a bit of browsing and Google Maps. At home I connect to my wi-fi though.

I didn't get my 6GB through retention. It was a public offer last year. And if you call, they can give it to you for $30 as an add-on to a voice-plan.

How is the $39 plan compared to the Fido plans? I don't really see differences.

There's no video messaging. Fido plan includes unlimited video messaging as well.

Prices go up and down all the time.

Maybe we'll see better prices during back-to-school. Maybe during Christmas. Maybe not. No one knows.
