is 600mb enough for a first time iphone user? I have wifi at home and at work, mostly i would be using the maps when i'm out and lost. and maybe some general web browsing and imessage. What do you guys think?

600MB should be plenty for navigation.notoriousenv wrote: ↑is 600mb enough for a first time iphone user? I have wifi at home and at work, mostly i would be using the maps when i'm out and lost. and maybe some general web browsing and imessage. What do you guys think?
I'm on Fido's $39 plan with the same 600MB limit. Just recently took my phone on a 10-day road trip out east using Google Maps constantly. Google Maps used up 100MB only. This was on Android but I don't see Apple Maps using up significantly more.
600MB data is plenty for light users (email, message, light browsing, maps). Just make sure to only download and update apps on wi-fi.

no video, 600MB is fine.
Otherwise, the sky is the limit.

Missed the promotion so I called Virgin and he was not interested signing me up. I guess I am staying with rogers.

I signed up yesterday and while i was there the virgin rep told other potential customers (that were debating signing up) that they can come back tomorrow and get the deal as well.

These Data limit's from Canadian carrier's are just brutal. We're sold these data intensive smartphones and then crippled by how much data we're sold at such insane prices comparatively around the globe. Here's a great device which can do all these fantastic services for you but don't bother cause we're only going to give you 2Gb for $60 and if you go over you better apply the lube. Ridiculous.

I've had a bad experience with their credit/fraud department who refused to give me any information on why I was deemed a high-risk customer (even though I've never been with Virgin Mobile or Bell Mobilicity). So I got around it by having my wife sign up with them instead. It was for her line/phone anyway so it wasn't a big deal.

Changed over 2 phones from Koodo (both the Samsung Galaxy S II x through the Mobile Shop last Christmas) to the $39 Virgin plan. Better plan, better reception and cheaper to boot!
But yesterday was the last day for the deal so time to move this to Expired.

I have that deal for 2 months now (with the BYOP -10%), no problem so far. Pretty happy, but 600mb is really short.. a couple of cat videos and you're done!

I called into Virgin Mobile to ask them to give me UMB (which of course they refused), but the rep told me to put August 8 on the calendar, as they will have a huge rollout in new plans.
So far I haven't seen anything changed.
