You can get few % discount from retailers like adidas, r&w, cineplex and recently from sportcheck etc. with referral it gives you $50 discount

I have no idea. The receipt shows 200 + 160 (Amount paid for the device)

I called 611 and the rep said this plan is available on my account, but I must finance a device. She sounded less than 100% sure, so I'll go to Costco or Walmart and see what happens.

Oh I didn’t know virgin was capped at 150 mbps.

I was talking about the virgin benefits where you get discounts at select stores, 2for 1 movie ticks etc

Okay so just had a 20 minute chat with virgin. I have 5 months left in the contract and was willing to pay off the balance if they can match the Black Friday deal. But the rep insisted it was only for new activations and wouldn’t budge.

So what is the best alternate here? Should I just pay off my balance and jump on to Fido or Koodo and then jump back to virgin again?

I don't know about Fido, but the plan is definitely available for existing customers for Koodo. Anyway, I went to Costco, and the rep could see the plan available on my account, so I was able to switch to it from my BYOD plan. Costco wouldn't match Walmart's BPO of $50 bonus GC, but I value Costco GCs more than Walmart's anyway. I can use Walmart GCs but I kind of have to make an effort to shop there. Costco GCs would be used up in a month! One pleasant surprise was that my $0 addon of 2GB data carried over, not that 2GB matters when you have 50GB! lol and the $50 activation fee supposedly will be credited back.

Moral of the story is this plan may be available to existing Virgin customers. Call in or at least ask the rep at the retail store to log into your account.

Is going to a kiosk/reseller always a better deal than buying online directly from Koodo/Fido/Virgin? (With all the gift cards and all)

Stuck at work every day until Black Friday is over. Wondering if Koodo is the best one based on reviews and rollover data. I presume no cap on rollback data like if I only use 10 GB per month, having 40 GB leftover per month, after a year do I have 480 GB of extra data left in my account for use? TIA

I added a line with virgin at Bestbuy yesterday. 50 gb for $40 plus the phone with $300 gc. The rep assured me the deal was available to existing customers with new lines. Now looking at my account under add ons it says pending removal on the discounts. No idea why. Found if I add to cart on Virgin website the discounts are still being offered after I sign in.

FYI you can get this deal at any mobile store for both new activations and upgrades.

I'd recommend for you to activate this at a third party like mobile shop so that youc an apply points to reduce the monthly finance cost of your phone.

To my knowledge, out of the sub brands only virgin mobile has it. I’m using it rn with virgin. It’s called number share.
