Interesting to know, in my case they have to send a technician for what ever reason. Every year I switch to a new carrier and they have to send the technician to make it work lolz.. don't ask me why. I don't know.

This was my case. I just did a new connection sign-up and then they called me a couple days later to ask if I wanted to keep both lines and I told them to just replace my existing, so they cancelled the new install and just applied the discount onto my existing plan and the gift card being applied as an account credit in month 2 ($45) and 3 (Remaining $5).idunno1987 wrote: ↑ Anyone have luck if they are already with virgin internet?

I'm in the same boat as idunno1987, with my one year anniversary coming up soon, and want to keep Virgin and try and get the same promo applied for another year. Did you sign up for the "new" account online, or did you call in? When I try and sign up online, it shows the 100/10 plan as $70/mnth with a $100 visa card. Were you able to get a monthly credit/discount applied (I currently get $35 off the $70)?steivewonder88 wrote: ↑ This was my case. Scheduled for install for mid-December. Got the $70 plan (100mbps down/10mbps up) with a $25 credit for 12 months plus a $50 GC.
Total is $45/month for 12 months + $50GC for 100mbps... not bad! Cutting my bill in half.

I signed up last week before this changed to $100 (was $50 last week). I signed up for a new account using the chat function on the website which gave me the $25 per month discount on 100/10 plan (net $45 per month) as well as the $50 visa prepaid card. They called me earlier this week to ask if I wanted to keep both lines or just one, so I mentioned had I intended to cancel my existing so they just rolled the discount onto my existing account and then said they would apply the $50 discount onto the 2nd ($45) and 3rd ($5) month.flyboy320 wrote: ↑ I'm in the same boat as idunno1987, with my one year anniversary coming up soon, and want to keep Virgin and try and get the same promo applied for another year. Hi, I got it through agent Emma. I’m from Toronto. She initially offered the plan at $70. I straight up asked for $25 credit with $100 GC and she agreed. Hope this helps.

Just want to add to this.
Agent tried to lie to me saying that they’ll “waive” my last bill because I’m cancelling mid cycle but in reality I’ve already paid the last month. Internet bills are paid a month in advance. Just spreading word so you don’t get cheated.
The clause in the contract says if you cancel mid cycle, you lose your promotion but should still be pro rated back your full price.

MacPod wrote: ↑ Just called to cancel my 50Mbps service that I had been paying full price $60/mo since my previous promo expire in May. Had called in May and June to ask for extending the discounts but no luck. Today, all they could offer was a measly $10/mo off. Already switched over to the Fido deal now.
When I asked them about the pro-rated billing and refund since I had already auto-payed this month's bill and there was about 18 days left before next bill date, the CSR seemed confused as to "if" I will be receiving a refund cheque. Does anyone have past experience with cancelling Virgin mid-billing cycle and mailed a cheque for the refund? I'd expect my next bill to show final bill with a balance credit of $36+tax which I would then later receive a cheque in the mail for that amount.
