I called koodo, they were able to give me $45/month with 15GB on Large tab and $100 off upfront a device on Mid tab, but I think that loses the $5 credit

Don't have an answer for you but seems like a lot of work for a gain of ~$50? Also might be a situation where the activation fee is charged on first bill and gets credited on 2nd. Plus a soft credit check..

When you say you lose the $5 credit is that the credit off the plan ($50/15gb) or credit for upgrading phones?

So you only get a credit for mid tab but not large?

off the plan, so back to $50/15GB but large gets $45/15GB

Jesus I know it's the internet but that spelling almost gave me an aneurysm. It's kinda hard not to come across as intelligent when talking to someone like you tbh lol. I will thank you!

I called centrepoint and hillcrest and it goes directly to voicemail. Is this the case with all sources?

I'd normally agree with you but I'm in a situation where I actually need some additional data for just a month, so it would work out well for me. I don't mind the soft credit check either. Good point on the activation fee though, would have to look into it thanks

Activation is credited 3rd month which forces you to stay for 3 months. You still come out ahead by $50.

Just went to one the White Oaks Mall and was told it's $50/10GB and $150 GC.

I think these plans are very YMMV and are different from store to store.

Just to confirm Kitchener also has $45/10GB with $100GC. It still does not beat my Koodo plan so I will be waiting too for $40

Do you mean the plan doesn't exist at either location? If so Fido plan might win out then.
