[Virgin Mobile] Virgin Mobile $45 6gb, $50 8gb 1000 mins BYOD YMMV

Walked by Aberdeen Centre Richmond BC they have a promo specifically for this virgin dealership. Not sure if this is true but the rep told me you can't get this deal elsewhere except for them.

$45 6gb 1000 mins international calling (specific countries)
$50 8gb "

First 12 months $10 off already reflected on pricing. $55 & $60 after 12 months. Hopefully there will be better byod deals on back to school, black friday etc before full price comes in effect.

No expiry date as of yet.

good deal with the 10$ off for 12 months, comparable to the 45$/6gb + free phone prepaid migration plan or 40gb/6gb BYOD

This is good. So 8 gb for $50? I’m on something similar with Koodo but only 6 gb. Hmmm

Yes $50 for 8GB
500 mins
Plus member benefits for virgin

The rep there is awesome and knows everything
Coverage is pretty good - similar coverage to bell. I was using rogers before but virgin coverage is good in my basement as well

Thanks for the update.
Switched to Freedom after the Telus price increase.
Happy to save money but the coverage is pretty horrible with Freedom in comparison.
Will port my number over to Virgin.

Telus = Koodo = Public Mobile = Bell = Virgin = Lucky

Same coverage for all of the above.

I got this deal in 2018. No complaints except Virgin recently text me to say they were adding a $10 monthly charge.... so now I'm looking out. Why offer it again but say it's not available to current customers, buggers.

If you're really not happy with the increase go sign up with Public Mobile. $38 5gb of data same coverage but throttled LTE. Tomorrow is the last day to get it. Use that until a better offer comes up.

Btw, think you can screen shot that $10 increase text?

USA is not included in the 1000 mins.

Public Mobile has $50 8gb with unlimited USA/Canada calling. Last day to get it it's tomorrow. That's if you don't mind throttled LTE.

This looked like a great deal till you said this. I've been considering getting out of my 10GB 60$ plan with Koodo for awhile. I love the amount of data I have, truly. But I feel like I am paying too much. On the other hand, it's backwards logic to jump ship if I can't rely on them not to cheat a customer by suddenly raising the price. I was about to ask about Virgin's policy with buying new phones... I don't feel like paying extra tab prices :|

If you looking to get a device than your plan is pretty much locked for 2 years. They can’t increase the price and even if you do BYOD and they are increasing the price switch it to koodo or fido after 9-10 months you will get $10 discount on their plans :) so its just playing a game back and fourth to maximize your discount lol

The connection fee is a scam. It's usually waived. Looks like they're pocketing it for themselves.
