[Virgin Mobile] [ON] Virgin Mobile - Fido Winback $25/8GB, $30/10GB, $35/20 GB

Spotted this at Pmall. YMMV.

To combat Fido store next door, they posted WINBACK from Fido

$25/8GB
$30/10GB
$35/20 GB

Alternatively,

New activation $40/20GB.

These carriers just make up promos whenever they like... I just signed up for an online 15GB at $53 + taxes, their new loyalty promo! Not much of a deal compared to this! I wonder what the details are for this plan.

Does this only work if you were a previous Virgin customer or will it work if I port from FIDO having never been a Virgin customer? I have FIDO currently and am looking to move away from them to 3 lines $35/20GB and 2x $25/8GB. Would that work with this offer?

This is a concern for me. I would like to leave Virgin, but the other side is probably worse.

Yes. This offer should apply to you as it's for exis Fido customers switching to Virgin

I called my local fido and the rep said these plans were available but they go up 20 or 30 bucks after 12 months.

The $40 15GB Public Mobile plan is better since it's not a credit with an expiry date.

After 12 months all you have to do is hop on another deal.

That's if you could still find another good deal in 12 months. With recession it's hard to say. But then again Black Friday is right around the corner.

The debate now is:
Recessions vs. Black Friday.

In 12 months, would we still see some of these $25/30 plans during a Black Friday Recession.
Only time will tell..........

Tune in next time (in 12 months)

I do find it rather interesting that during hard economic times, Fido/Virgin can bring their prices this low. It goes to tell us how much people were getting ripped off in the past paying 6GB for $40 with some providers. Especially when inflation is a beast at this time

Phone plan prices have been dropping for years now.

10 years back, I was so happy to have $55 MB/SK plan in Ontario via Koodo loophole for 5 GB.

Then, the big rush when all carriers gave 10 GB for $60.

Now, even if for 12 months, it's literally half!!! $30 for 10 GB.

10 years ago, I was selling Rogers plan of 4 GB for $110 (with a phone, or $100 without).

And the Fido $43 for 35 GB plan with no expiry is even better,if you need that much data
