Just called and Virgin said they removed the $56 with 10 GBs plan. They were offering practically the same as the the big 3.

It's not available for BC, maybe that's why they gave you some bogus excuse.

I'm an aspiring new member and got denied through live chat because it's only for existing members.sterdeus wrote: ↑ I was just denied the $56 plan. I started with chat and said my friend got the plan. They came back saying I'm not eligible. I asked why not and they said that I should talk to their specialist on the phone. They called my phone and I spoke to them and they said $56 was for new activations. I played the whole "I've been a customer for 9 years" but they didn't budge. I don't know what truth there is to all they're saying so I plan to call back.
I can't be the only one that finds the humor in how stupid the big 6 are.

Total collusion and they randomly select who gets what for xxx money. One day they offer the world, the next day it changes. Also depends who you are, where you are, whether your a drinker or on ..whether your a smoker or not.
All this crap decides who gets the deals lol
These companies are a JOKE

I called Koodo. I am on a Medium tab and had the 8GB plan for $65. Spoke to loyalty and now have 10 GB / unlimited texts and nationwide minutes for $60.

Funny you say this. I just signed up with virgin, porting from Koodo to their 8GB/500min plan for $60 - $10, then started a chat session just like someone had suggested earlier on in this thread to see if they can offer me the $56 plan and I got refused. He said I should call that 888 number . I called the 888 number and I spoke to someone and he said that he can't see this offer in my account and since mine is a new activation they don't offer it . They only offer it for existing customers that have been loyal for quite a while.sterdeus wrote: ↑I was just denied the $56 plan. I started with chat and said my friend got the plan. Opposite of your case.

Try saying in the chat that your spouse just switched over and the rep said that if you switched they would offer you the plan on your account.theshowman wrote: ↑ Funny you say this. Did you get a phone with that as well, since its a silver plan?ShaneBeach wrote: ↑ I called in BC and after a bit of back and forth the rep was able to give me 8gb/$55 which is good enough for me. It I see them open up the 10gb/$56 to BC I will call back and try to get it switched.

Thanks OP. I have a BYOP line and a contract line; I used their chat service and got this plan for my BYOP line; also the agent told me about a new Gold64 Plan that includes 6GB data and unlimited Canada wide calls. I got this plan for my contract line and also a 10% discount.

No! It’s just a plain BYOP plan but she had to put it under a ‘silver’ plan in order to give me the deal.95thRiflesOCI wrote: ↑ Did you get a phone with that as well, since its a silver plan?

Potentially returning customer, currently with Koodo (Ontario)
Went to the online chat, they said the offer is not available through chat and directed me to call in. Called in and was transferred to loyalty, loyalty said they don't have the plan and that I should either go in-store or call the sales team. Called to reach the sales team, guy running the redirection of incoming calls said that the offer is only available to Quebec customers or current customers who received the offer directly via text/email. Very YMMV and everyone seems to be passing responsibility to someone else.
EDIT: Tried online again and was offered 8GB for $55/mo and took that, good enough for me.

My wife and I were at the end of our contracts with Virgin, device balances paid off. Asked for the 10GB promo and was declined, but offered 6GB for $60.
Meh...3GB more for $3 less than I'm paying now. Will do until I find something better.

I just had a live chat, and they were willing to move me to the BYOP56 plan, but I have one more month of contract, and wanted to add the $25 buyout to my next bill. Said I could chat back when I got that bill to get the $25 waived, but didn't want to do that. I'm in Ontario BTW.
