Seems solid, no? Swap the HDD for SSD immediately.

Be hard pressed to find a laptop at this price with a GPU even in it, right?

SDM had the same Y520 laptop promo before, but no backpack.
$899.99 and $269 back in points. 900x1.13-269=$748 taxes included, which is a much better deal.

Link to a cheap time machine? This is a good deal for people that need one now.

Good deal OP. CPU is older but should be a perfect match for the 1050ti, good deal for a solid machine. Could use some upgrades for usability (SSD, RAM) but at that price could upgrade both and still be under $1000.

So model number 80WK001LUS translates to to the Legion Y520-15IKBN.

Page 37 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual here confirms M.2.

I mean it's an impressive price for this. And if you're feeling nasty, you can Hackinstosh it here, giving you the best of both worlds really.

I wanted to see if that Dell deal was still valid, and the G3 3579 here may be a better deal. It's $50 more, and while it shares the same GPU as the Lenovo, with the Dell you get an 8th gen CPU (vs. 7th with the Lenovo), and a RAM speed boost to 2666 MHz (vs. 2400 MHz on the Lenovo). You also get a TPM chip, so you can BitLock the drive and have the Recovery Keys stored on the TPM, and there is M.2 support. And as with the Lenovo, if you wanted macOS, you can do it.

You don't get the backpack, and it comes down to you tolerance for Dell / Microsoft vs. Lenovo, but for my money I think I'd spend the extra $50 and go with the Dell.

What gave you the impression that RFD is for people that need a laptop at this very moment? I don't know why people keep using this "Time Machine" line nonsense. The point is if this deal happened once, it can happened again or be a better deal. Gives perspective to people that might want to wait for something equal or better.

Not this "DURR HURR TIME MACHINE CAN'T GET THAT DEAL WHY WOULD YOU POST THIS GTFO I LIVE IN THE HERE AND NOW CANT THINK 5MIN AHEAD".

I had this laptop and just sold it couple days ago. It's just ok for that price and the screen is really bad like most low end gaming laptop. Install a M.2 ssd is a MUST for this system and don't expect you can play any big title smoothly with this guy. but it's should be enough for most regular online gaming or office work.

I dont know that much about computers but why would you want to use macOS? Im sure its better than Windows but arent most games made for Windows?

Somehow I thought this would be faster than replying on my own. It definitely wasn't.
