The launch price of the 77CX is essentially the sale price of the 77C9, so the CX will definitely be cheaper eventually. IIRC, the launch price of the 77C9 was $9K or $10K, so getting $2K off the CX (~28% discount) shouldn't be outside the realm of possibility this BF/BD considering LG is trying to be more competitive on the 75" range, meaning a 77" OLED for CAD $5000 should be in reach by the end of 2020. Nothing is written in stone of course as there's other variables (COVID, FX, etc.).jorda13456 wrote: ↑...
As for those waiting for a deal on the 77" C9, I hope your ready to cought out a minimum of $6300+. Based on the price history, it doesn't seem like they will drop lower than that. You might want to act fast if you see a price that you favor. I personally can't justify dropping $3500+ ontop of the original $3000 65"for the 77" model that I already got. 77" is not in high demand as 65" or 55" is and eventually it will be difficult to find C9's all together as the CX is priced more expensive but is hardly any better.
Now if people are going to be picky about getting a 77C9 over a 77CX, then yeah, the 77C9 may not get that low if there's no stock or limited stock and lots of demand. Ultimately, retailers won't care about videophile differences between the C9 and CX, they'll just want to clear stock but the rules of supply and demand still apply.
