CPU performance is very much the same
Asus has more storage 64GB vs 32GB which can be accommodated with the Cloud and a microSD card
Bigger difference are the displays: Asus is only HD (1366x768) while the Acer is FullHD (1920x1080)

The Costco deal on the Asus C523 (different model from the Visions/Source) is far and away the better option with a FullHD touchscreen that makes a world of difference when using Android apps and it's only $250!

Obviously no prices/devices to compare to but the front of the SDM flyer this week has "Up to 20% off selected Chromebooks" on top of the usual SDM 20x points weekend

Worth having a look before committing

Visions has this for $199 vs Costco which is priced at $249

I bought one for my daughter. This is a better deal https://www.visions.ca/catalogue/catego ... 523NA-DH02

Just a FYI here but as a Chromebook fanboy, do be aware that the addition of an external mSD card can only serve as storage ie. pics, vids, music, etc etc. It cannot be used to install playstore apps.

ChromeOS are mostly thru browser & even its extensions & native apps don't take up much storage so 32gb will be more than adequate. Its the android part (mostly games) that will be issue. Not saying that 32gb won't be enough but I'd go 64gb all day if it were me.

Thanks OP for posting this deal. The subsequent comments helped figure out the best option for my budget. I went with the Asus C523 open box from Best Buy, currently retailing for $169.99.
