Its not a question of hot. This is likely the only thin and light gaming laptop with these specs. Other benefit is that it does not look like a gaming laptop so if you have a dual use or using it for productivity/business setting, looks like a regular laptop even with a 2060 Max Q. If you just want specs, then check out the TUF gaming with R7 and 2060 or other brands. This laptop sells out immediately everytime stock shows up.

I agree. Most gamers prefer their own higher end webcams rather than what would be integrated in a laptop. By removing the webcam, more space to go edge to edge on the screen so you get more screen real estate in a smaller chassis.terracotta92 wrote: ↑ most laptops don't even have a good integrated webcam, tbh. i have the omen 17 and the camera sucks.

This model only has a 1660TI? No 2060?

The Dell G5 15 was a much better deal. It had an i7-107500, 16gb, 512SSD, 2060. With the 8% offered on the ebates deal, the cost was around $1600. The key feel, thermals and screen are superior in my opinion.

The gaming framerate difference may not justify the price difference for most people who are looking at the G14.royaltee66 wrote: ↑ This model only has a 1660TI? No 2060?
However, there's the TUF 4900H with 2060 for $1700.

The Dell G5 has a garbage chassis and cheap feeling materials throughout. It’s gotten really bad reviews all over which is the opposite of the G14.royaltee66 wrote: ↑ The Dell G5 15 was a much better deal. It had an i7-107500, 16gb, 512SSD, 2060. True that. The 2060 model is more expensive.royaltee66 wrote: ↑ This model only has a 1660TI? No 2060?

You should see the g14 subreddit. It's definitely not free of issues either. The Destroyer wrote: ↑ The Dell G5 has a garbage chassis and cheap feeling materials throughout. It’s gotten really bad reviews all over which is the opposite of the G14.

Its not even just a 1660ti. Its a 1660ti Max Q which puts this in the middle of a 1650ti and a full 1660ti.
At $1500 plus tax you’re really paying for form factor and not much else.

Kindly tell me why it was not. I bought the Dell G5 15 because its got no issues with thermals, good screen, fast processor, 2060 chip and i saved hundreds from rebates. I also added a 3 year warranty and 3 years drop protection, all for under 1600.hansdoreen wrote: ↑ No, it was not.

I agree. I received my Dell G5 Gaming with i7-10750H and RTX 2060 and am going to return it even though I got a killer deal on it (-$1200).The Destroyer wrote: ↑ The Dell G5 has a garbage chassis and cheap feeling materials throughout. Pros:
- nice screen
- decent performance
- tb3
Cons:
- loud fan. Even for a gaming laptop. Playing a simple puzzle game revved it up to annoying levels. "Quiet" mode does nothing.
- keyboard feels cheap. Keys are a little small, and not a good tactile feel at all.
- laptop is ugly. Looks like something from the mid 2000s with smaller bezels.
The fan noise and keyboard are the deal breakers for me. I dont even want to touch the thing anymore.
It is too bad cause it is $600 cheaper than something like a 2020 hp omen with similar specs but in this case I am considering spending more.

Local Visions said this has to be ordered in. No stock available. It is available from Staples though, so I will try a price match.

Laptops cannot be compared spec for spec.

Not a very hot price, for a last gen i5 in a budget gaming laptop chassis.

Are you speaking from some thread? Or do you own this machine. I own the machine and I can tell you the feel is very luxurious. Aside from the cover, I'd say this is a solid well built machine. Good screen and nothing bad with thermals. Did you read those ASUS TUF reviews where people have to drill into the machine to keep it cool? You prefer that? Do you prefer the ASUS with the screen issues where people have to defend it by hooking up an external monitor? The G14 is a good machine but the price for the Dell G5 15 was impressive on the last round given the rebates. The Destroyer wrote: ↑ The Dell G5 has a garbage chassis and cheap feeling materials throughout.
