Bought one of these when they were $16 each. Used 2-3 times daily at medium to high volume and broke after 2 months use. Stopped turning on so I suspected some electrical issues.
Didn't leak and light was pleasant when working. Because this is lower powered compared to other kettles, it was slow to heat all the water. Wasn't overly noisy either.

When it comes to kettles I like buying from Costco so that I can exchange if it breaks within a few years

I just bought a couple for $31 this week, and first impressions are good. Can't speak to durability yet, though. I wonder if Visions imports these and handles warranty replacement themselves, or if there is a distributor and they need to be sent somewhere in the worst case?

Bought one earlier in the year from Costco
Don't have receipt I think...
How to take advantage of this cause we replace ours every 1 to 2y?

Can they track your past purchases at Costco from your membership card, without a receipt? Not certain, but possible.

Yes they certainly can.
We never abuse any of the return after 6 months after it breaks.
If you can exchange/return after 1-2 years that would be worth it.
Sounds like people would abuse this?

Im certain this is a better price then costco (2for1), it's about $36 for one @ costco. Ours similar to this has been used everyday for the last almost 6 months. Unless it breaks soon, Ive never used the exchange in over a year costco warranty.

If they offer lifetime warranty on an item, some people will always take it to the extreme. I can remember years ago one of my friends wives wearing jeans for 2-3 years and when they rip or wear, she would take them back to Costco for an exchange or refund.

Thanks. A year lifespan is a little low, hope that is the low side of the curve. I know they are often priced at $18 and sometimes at $16, The Stainless model seems to have a $20 higher MSRP than the other models, and I don't recall seeing that one at $18. That's why I posted it. I might just not have made the distinction in the past sales, though.

does the lid pop open on the stainless steel model? in the picture, it looks like the lid has a different mechanism to open. The red/white/black one has a button you press to pop the lid open. The stainless steel one has something to pull on the lid. Will the lid stay open or fall back to close if tilted forward (such as when filing with water)?

I grabbed a basic plastic one from walmart for about $15, 4 years ago and its still going fine with daily use. I do a vinegar boil once every 2 weeks due to the hard water here.

However, that one sure seems nice.

Thanks OP.

The lid is light and has some hinge resistance, so it stays open.

Just for the record, it is this one, not the above. Maybe I am being hopelessly optimistic, but I am hoping that makes some difference. Considering that it is priced higher.

Not sure. It doesn't say so, but there is very little plastic in contact with the water. Just the lid, and that is not in direct contact generally.

No online stock, but still in store availability here.
So far I am quite happy with mine. Looks and functionality are great for $15.50. We'll see how it's longevity goes, I guess.
