I bought these last year from Visions for the same price. They were definitely the best sounding headphones I've ever owned, making music fun to listen to. I compared these to a pair of Denon AH-D1001's and some Sennheiser earbuds, and the others sounded veiled and boring in comparison. By default they were too weak in the bass for my tastes, but I have an old NAD integrated amp with bass/treble controls, and once the bass level was raised, they still sounded clean while also really powerful. Be forewarned that I needed to crank up the volume to maximum on my Cowon iAudio 7 music player for a good listening level, so a powered amp is pretty much a prerequisite for these.

Although I knew ahead of time that the open-backed design would leak sound, I was unprepared for how much (somewhere between 50% to 75% the "interior" volume). At normal listening volumes, other people in the house could easily hear what I was listening to through a closed door, so unfortunately that was a deal-breaker for me. But if that's not a problem for you, I think these headphones offer great value for the money.

Pretty much the same price as Amazon.ca. Not really a deal.

How would these sound with the lg quad dac phones?

Seriously, how much better will it be? Unless you have super hearing, you won't be able to notice.

Difference is night and day actually, no super hearing required.

Good price, got mine for $300 at visions a while back.

That said for similar pricing I prefer either the seinheiser 6xx or the monoprice 1060 more.

Hmm interesting I felt the exact opposite, especially after I replaced the stock earpads on the 400i with some ZMF ori pads which greatly helps with bass.

I bought this for $180 US on sale last month from buydig. Often goes on sale as a new model is out.
