Think this is worth it to jump on this or will better opportunities arise for black Friday?

Black Friday isn't always cheaper and that's a pretty good deal. At best BF you might save another $50? $100? Or could be same price but out of stock because of hype.

This is not the 2020. Skip it.

Wait for a H8G / H9G discount, a deep discount on the H9G is irrepressible.

Out of curioisty, how does your mount this TV? Doesnt seem to have the VESA screws holes in the back.

I got a tv from Costco that will last me until Black Friday. Definitely will be better deals than.

Fair. 2020 version is very very good. But so was the 2019 version, and $998 for 65" is definitely a hot deal. You won't see the 2020 version go below $1299 around BF id guess ?

we just recently saw H8G for this price. So H9G is coming down soon.

Right, again that's fair, but the H9G consistently sells for hundreds more than H8G. If you think a 65" H9G will be $999 (it's currently $1800) on BF, you'll likely be disappointed

Bought it for 1100$ in January. I don't know how much improvement the H9G (2020) has.

It's 400x200, photos don't show which is weird...but literally all TVs have VESA mounting.

For what it's worth, if you use rtings.com as a guide, the 2019 was rated at 8.0 overall and 2020 at 8.4 overall. 8.4 overall puts it into the top echelon of TVs (outside of OLED). Also, a jump from 8.0 to 8.4 is quite large for one year.

Faster processor, more dimming zones, near field voice control and a bunch of stuff. The 2020 model got an 8.4 on rtings vs 8.0 for this one.

Kind of off topic but is this the time around the year that they clear out old model? I m moving in less than a year to a bigger place so have been eyeing these tv deals as they come in. I think I should pull the trigger much closer to my moving date, but don’t want to pass on too good of a deal if I sees one.

I hate how Hisense names their TVs. As stated, this is for the 2019 model, the H9F/Q9809.

The 2020 Models are H9G/Q9G. Just so no one gets confused when looking at reviews.

Still a decent TV, but the 2020 model is much better than the 2019.

It's to prevent price-matching across retailers.

Best Buy does this, they get "exclusive" models all the time from manufacturers and sometimes it's not just the model name, they tweak one minor spec and call it different. Typically it's something silly like speakers are 15w instead of 10w! The stand feet are different! Or they flat out disable a particular feature in software/firmware...

JackWhyte wrote: I was reading on Reddit how the H/Q9G 2020 line of Hisense TVs don't allow you to turn off that horrible "white light" LED standby indicator, which would absolutely drive me crazy in a bedroom environment, and is even distracting in an office or living room - why these morons switched to BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT for an indicator (from dull blue or red) is beyond me but this crap scars my retinas - it must be .0000001 cents less expensive to source in China.

Anyone have the 2020 Hisense and can confirm?
+100 other consumer electronics. Take a sharpie marker and cover it.
