[Visions Electronics] JVC 70" Select Series 4K UHD HDR Android Smart LED TV for $598

I don't usually post deals, but I stumbled across this 70" at sub-$600 and it feels like a pretty sweet deal. A quick search shows Walmart offering it for $999.98, but I was unable to find more retailers - so take that with a grain of salt.

Specs:
- Model: LT70EC3508
- 70” screen (measured diagonally) with 16:9 aspect ratio
- 3840 x 2160 native resolution for Ultra High Definition (4K) performance
- Slim Bezel
- HDR / 4K HDR10
- 3 HDMI® inputs for true digital connections
- USB x2 ports for playing picture (JPEG) files and service
- Built-in speakers (10W x2)
- Built in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2T2R
- Memory 2G DDR +16G EMMC
- Android OS Certified by Google Android TV® (CTS)
- 60Hz

What the heck. JVC still makes TVs for the Canadian market?

No, they license the brand. TVs with that brand are made by China's Shenzhen MTC (base on superficial googling).

Sad.

I don't know if these TVs have good price/performance. I suspect that this deal is pretty good because the price is so low.

In-store only, not much stock. Demo units?

Yeah, they had similar ones at SDM but I declined the buy after seeing they aren't actually Japan Victor Corporation...just a licensed name like so may others (Betty Crocker, Bell and Howell, Polaroid, etc.). Sad how things went with those companies that used to be such huge brand names in the past...

Called the Burlington store and were told these were "service units" and not for sale.
