Last year I had picked up two HTS10 below $298 @ Visions.

Much better bass than the RTI.

Would have took the HTS12 if I had room.

RTI line is OK. Decent.

I would wait for the HTS10 to go on sale.

The SVS SB-1000 subwoofer is really the one I want, since I'm using my subwoofer more for music than movies. I don't want to spend $699 though. Anyone have any thoughts? Do SVS subs ever go on sale? Black Friday maybe?

They have a HTS-10 Open box for 298$ , is it worth it ?

Anyone here aware of open box warranty from vision ?
Petrohead to EV-head , if there is one.

You can get an SVS sb-1000 on small sales like $665 etc. Electronics for less is a good website to price match amazon or other retailers.

I just got a pb-1000 a few months ago...the difference between it and virtually every other sub below $1000 is massive.

There's also the HTS 12 open box for $347.

Found a Monolith 10 in the 500's last year on warehouse deals that turned out to look like it had never been out of the box. Have never seen anything close to as good since.
That said if you can find one actually at MSRP in Canada without a huge shipping fee etc. I think they are clear winners over SVS for value.

$665 is still like double the price though, and I don't know if I want to splurge on that or not. Decisions decisions ...

Monolith 10 is a contender but definitely not the clear winner.
You can't get it for anywhere near that price anymore.
They have serious quality control issues.

Like most inexpensive subs from mainstream brands the advertised frequency response is not at all accurate.

I bought a new one of these yesterday at an authorized dealer for the same price as the B stock ($630 inc shipping). PM me if interested and I'll give you the name of the company and the sales guy I dealt with.

EDIT: I bought the PB-1000, not the SB-1000.

I have this sub and got it at the same price from Visions last year. No complaints, but I can only compare it against my inferior home theater in a box speakers. Still decent enough to rattle the room during gunfire or a Godzilla movie.

anyone run 2 subs in their setup? i have polk L/R and center w/ klipsch R-10SW. rears are old computer speakers.

my avr has a connection for a 2nd sub. wonder if it's worth it to get more oomph or save for a single, larger woofer.
