This Samsung is a 4K monitor and the Dell you referenced is 2K. The Dell has other features that this one doesn't, like built-in USB hub and DisplayPort MST for daisy-chaining. The Dell will also cost significantly more.
"Better" depends on what you want out of the monitor.

Do you need to run an audio cable to the monitor from the PC to get audio out of the 3.5mm?

You'll likely need to use spacers or washers if the VESA mount is 75x75 and 100x100 (unless you get an absolute 75x75 VESA mount). Some people went to Home Depot and bought washers and stacked them. I had extra spacers and washers in the toolbox, so I just used those.

i haven't tested it yet but i would have thought the aux runs from the monitor to the speaker and outputs sound coming through the HDMI or DP cable (that would otherwise be played on the monitor if it had internal speakers)
she may be payin for dinner, but i'll be earnin it later!

Correct! No internal speakers on this monitor.

I'm very happy with these monitors. Both I received, one from staples and one from best buy had no issues whatsoever. Have a nice dual monitor set up hooked up to a mac mini, one with an HDMI cable and one with a usb c to display port cable. No issues.

just FYI for those who purchased this monitor @ Staples and returned for some reason. If you decide to give it a second try with purchasing this monitor,
1. It is going to be restocked in 7-10 days.
2. You can use live chat with a sales rep., you can refer to your previous order with a special price and your return, they might give you the same special price, so you can order it again. This is what I was told in live chat.

I liked 4K of those two monitors I purchased but yellow tint was aweful so returned them back. However, I see some guys here got monitors with no issues, so I am thinking to give it a second try...

3008x1682 is a great resolution on macOS
