[Visions Electronics] Samsung Fridge Water Filter $35.10 after PM. Reg $48

First post here Grinning Face

The HAF-CIN is a water filter from Samsung that fits all current Samsung refrigerators except models of RF18, RF220, RF221, RT18M, and RF23M8090. Recommended replacement is every six months.

Great PM opportunity here with HD or Lowes to bring the total down to $35.10. Sign up for Lowe's or HD's newsletter offer to sweeten this deal even more.

Lowe's newsletter offer can only be applied for online purchases.

Also, looks like HD has changed their newsletter promo from spend $50 get $5 off to spend $100 get $10 off.

Crazy expensive for a water filter, but a really good deal, since if you have the fridge you need the filter occasionally. Thanks

When I add the water filter to the cart at visions I am offered an extra $5 discount for in store pickup, so price is $34. Seems like a good deal as my local visions has the item in stock.

If the fridge lasts long enough to buy a second filter, Samsung refrigerators are rubbish!

Is there any material benefit to buying the OEM filter over the aftermarket ones at a third of the cost? Just moved into a house with a Samsung fridge with expired filter.

Trust me, don't go with cheap Chinese knockoffs, filter could leak and you don't know what's inside that filter

The only 3rd party one I used was amazon basics. Too bad they don't offer them anymore.

I found that all aftermarket filters for my lg fridge either didn't fit or leaked.

Amazon choice. $35 for 3, so a little under $12 each. Works great. I am on my second 3 pack.

We have iron bacteria in the water. Our whole house system does not remove it without the addition of a second carbon filter or a chlorine or peroxide injector. We could also put in a drinking water system under the sink.

Or I spend my $12 on my fridge filter which works great at removing taste and odor. They last close to a year before I notice the pressure dropping and I swap it out.

I see very little risk in using these.

Just my 2 cents

Samsung OEM filter confirm to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401. You can see what the standards cover here
Above Belvita covers NSF/ANSI 42&372 CERTIFICATION which is only taste and Lead. See standard 372 here

Thus the price difference. Cheap is not always the best especially when it is something you are putting in your body. Just my opinion

Ya mine died after three years, same with Samsung dishwasher. I also got off brand filters that worked fine for around $12-$15 each on Amazon.

Yes, especially the crappy ice maker. If you like ice, get a LG. My in-law has an LG and has NEVER had a problem with the ice maker and we got them at about the same time.

I was checking in stores and they still make them with the flawed design.
