Visiting Rome, Italy

Dear all,
Could you please provide any advice for Rome visitors in October?
What to visit, what websites to use to book hotel, coliseum, hop-on-hop-off bus , etc. with good discounts

Thank you.
I am not looking to offend anyone.

I think you meant to put it here:

Also I think you can search and see if it's been answered before.

What is the deterrent for posting OT stuff in here. Yeah they get downvotes but so what? They get more attention and more posters potentially answering the question. It's a no lose situation.

There are quite a lot of museums in Rome, I went there in May. I would suggest
1) Buy ROME pass
2) You can buy a tour to visit Vatican, Sistine Chapel and ST. Peter Basilica (skip the line) there, but negotiate the price with the guy. We got $70 for two people. I wasn't sure if it was a good , but it was quite of rushy. I would suggest you buy ticket on trip advisor or some sites in the advance.
3) Buy the ticket in advance if you wish to visit Colosseum (it needs to be scheduled)
4) Always bring water, buy water in supermarket

That's all I remember

I don't know about October, but peak season Vatican crowd is insane. You'll get pushed like in a human wave. Go a few hours before it closes.

If Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel is a high priority, consider booking the Breakfast @ Vatican program - you get breakfast and then can star touring a full hour before the masses storm in. It's obviously more expensive but totally worth it. Another option is the Vatican @ Night program which is available up to end of October.
