[Vistek] Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer $279.99 with bonus photo paper

Found out that this printer is on a very good sale at Vistek. It is not a regular run of the mill printer but a specialised pro level photo printer. Vistek is currently accepting pre-order.

Regular price is 349.99 everywhere else, even on canon estore. This will be my first pro level photo printer. Placed an order with Vistek but will try to price match at my local Bestbuy tomorrow by showing my placed order at Vistek.

Deal updated: Price match Staples with BestBuy sale price and use Staples coupon.

Thanks, OP - too bad there's no free shipping, or an option for in-store pickup.

Still, a very good price for this printer.

How expensive is the ink for this printer (or ones like it)? I know the cartridges appear to be $22/each, but how long would a set of consummables last typically under regular usage? I know that "regular usage" will vary but let's say that could be 5 - 10 colour 8" x 10" photos a week.

Anytime I think I might want a photo printer, I wonder if the cost of the printer + paper + ink is still worthwhile. Though in my case, I do have a Costco nearby. YMMV.

Been looking at this for a while, bummer that it never gets close to the sale prices you get in the states.

Yes it could be more expensive than printing from Costco but buying a printer like this gets you the convenience of being able to print on the spot.

Price is now $329.99 on the Vistek site.

I went ahead and placed an order last night - kind of annoying the charge your CC right away, even when they don't have the item in immediate stock.

I’ve had this printer for a few years. I use https://www.precisioncolors.com/PC42.html
or it’s predecessor ink set. They are Canada based but last time pricing was US$. Takes a bit of time to refill and I do every cartridge when one goes empty, but good colour and cost effective.

I had this printer for a couple of years now and can only highly recommend it for large(er) format prints etc. I have done quite a few prints and am still on the first set of cartridges. Furthermore I moved with this printer, had it stored for months on end (in the original box), got it out and it printed as if I used it only the other day. Overall I am very fond of and happy with Canon printers. I for example bought a MG6420 multi-function printer for $30 on clearance from Staples some years ago and the photo printing quality is astonishing (plus the ink is dirt cheap).

I have a similar canon printer and I really like it. I'm not sure what the break even point is of buying your own printer vs. getting a printshop to print for you but it's probably in the hundreds of pages. I feel like there are reasonable prices for ink out there now and the efficiency of the ink cartridges are pretty good as well. Photo paper can get expensive if you aim for the large size formats this printer can use.

I still highly recommend it if you are an amateur/hobbyist photographer. Every month I review my photos that I've taken and I like to print one and put it on my wall (I've been lazy in that last part for a bit). I also enjoy printing off photos I've taken of my friends or their pets and giving it to them. I would recommend looking up tutorials in getting your photos ready for printing especially for different types of paper, as the colours on your screen won't necessarily transfer exactly how you like on paper.

Got an update on Vistek order.

Expected shipping date is July 4th, 2020.

Update: I ended up picking up in store at Mississauga store at it showed in stock at this store couple of days after I placed order.

Called in and asked them to switch order to pick up in store and saved $26 odd for shipping in the original order.

Paid $250 back in November 2018 for this printer. Prints better than the crap you get from Walmart/Costco. As stated get your refills from precision colors, but try to grab the package with the modified cartridges.
