Anyone know the miner situation? Is it still a good investement to have a GPU mining with etherum being at 800$ cad ?

Last time I calculated it was a 1 year ROI. I may be wrong on that.

ROI is a little under a year, depending on what you buy. I wouldn't solely focus on ROI though. Re-sale value matters, and so does the revenue you'll make once the ROI is met. I got a 1080Ti last week for $1150+tax and it's bringing in >$6 per day even taking into account electricity costs, which is an ROI of under 8 months (assuming nothing changes form now til then - a huge assumption, obviously). That's a fairly safe investment as I can't imagine a scenario where I can't sell it for at least $500 a year from now when I will almost certainly have made my money back already.

As for these prices, it's far from hot. Canada Computers has tons of GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 G1 GAMING in stock (online plus most of the physical stores) for $799. I'd trust them a lot more than whoever this company is.

they are legit. I know the people who are running the company. Even if it is a start-up, they come from 20+ years of PC industry background.
because I know who they are, my friends and 2 neighbors that bought from them with my referral all have had nothing but good things to say

That is an awful price for a 1070 Ti, it is downright disgusting for a vanilla 1070

Amazon sells 1070 Ti cards for about $630, if you can get them in stock

Here is my advice to everyone: Don't support the scum companies marking cards up nearly 100% from MSRP to play the market.

Vote with your wallet folks, make these businesses fail.

Looks suspicious, it's a Shopify site with a free template that anyone could have set up in an hour. I'm a web developer and this looks very suspicious.

Yeah, you should buy your cards from companies that sell GPUs below market value... oh wait, there aren't any of those!

Retail stores get stuck with tons of stuff nobody wants to buy, and many have to shut the doors because of lagging sales. And you're gonna call them scum because they're selling GPUs at market value?? Really?

All I want to do is make things look nicer on my monitor. Unfortunately people growing tulips make it impractical.

Sigh.

I’ve seen some prebuilts that made me wish I didn’t get the prebuilt I got on clearance from Walmart which included a 6700k, 16gb, ssd, Hdd and a 1070 for 1650 after tax.

Then I see 1070s at this price and I die from laughter

It's called free market.

They are selling cards for double MSRP. The market can respond by resisting these dirtbag tactics.
