If you are looking at a Tiguan or Golf, wait a few more months when the new Tiguan and Golf arrive in Canada then you will have some more negotiation leverage.

No 8th gen Golf for Canada unless you're going for GTI and R.

Went yesterday to took at 2021 GLI DSG, got quoted 37.5 OTR with 500 cash incentive included. Thoughts?

Think I could bring it down to 36.5 or 37 with some accessories thrown in? Trunk tray etc.

These events are just fluff to get people into dealerships to buy. A lot of times they give things like free gift cards or other such throw-ins with purchases but not so much VW dealers that do that I don't think. Really you can get the same kind of deal any day of the week given cars are negotiable purchases and the only real time-limited "sales" you have to speak of are the incentives from the manufacturers (e.g. rebates, interest rates, no-charge options, and the like).

Apart from that I wouldn't buy too much into these time-limited stealer "events" as though sometimes you might get a bonus this or that, most of the time they are accounting for it in the price of the car anyway, meaning you might even get a better price at another dealer that wasn't having such an "event" at all.

Besides 0% financing (which many dealers offer now) there's literally no real 'deal' for the customer. Your negotiating skills can help but that's about it for receiving any real discounts.

Tiguan is smooth, quite roomy, quiet, comfort and very Audi like. Whereas Mazda is all about luxurious, drive bit sportier and cramped, And torquier on Turbo model.

For everyday driving, get Tiguan. It is easy to get bored on driving so you are need bit of comfort, quiet ride in the long run.
