Currently $285 (also sale) at Amazon, CCC all time low!

given free shipping and chance to get warranty, I'd got Amazon
Zoomer: 1 account for family and planning to leave for good in 2023
Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

It supports 64 cameras. How do they come up with that stat?

Bitrate of camera, multiplied times number of cameras = total bitrate. That must be less than the drives write capability.

Am I missing something? Why is this getting downvoted? $23/TB for a non-shuck seems pretty hot

I believe this line's firmware is optimized for recording multiple surveillance camera streams However, it is a CMR drive and I don't know the implications of its firmware optimization on your particular use case.

I use 2 of these as media center drives. Not the fastest, but certainly not the slowest. Average write speed seems to be about 170MB/s. For reference, my WD 12tb white labels write at about 230MB/s.

Haven't noticed any other slowdowns. No major read issues to my server with 3 people in the household connecting and accessing content. Can't speak for heavier usage though.

Given the importance of reliability in surveillance use, I would be unconcerned.

.. Should have jumped on this one.. ran 2 in my 4bay NAS for Surveillance drives.. Of course I didn't get paid until today.. and that would lead to another purchase of said cameras at some time as well... ah well :P

Great price for non-shucked drives!!
Praying to the HD-gods we see more of this during Prime/FridayofBlackness...

I deeply regret buying 4TB and 6TB drives for plex, these make infinitely more sense in retrospect.

Meh, if you bought retail drives, at least you have the decent warranty. Theres multiple threads on here on HD's man for NAS-type setups... The Seagate 10TB's are the sweet-spot for me. You have to shuck so warranty is severely reduced/questionable, but the prices are right.. Typical ~$230 for one is a good deal. Haven't been 200 since last Black Friday and that was before Covid...

Yes, I know, sorry. $415 each now. Was meaning to ask though, -- did anyone buy these and how was their experience with this retailer? Packaging good?

Thanks.
