Walmart+ Membership in Canada?

Canada represents 10+ of Wal-Mart's market - nothing to scoff at - so why do we not have Wal-Mart+ in Canada? If their US market suddenly lost 10%, you can bet they'd be reacting, and fast! So why not equally fast including Canada in Wal-Mart+??

I just had a peek... Seems like $100 per year at best (if they keep it at the same value as US 135 ish) to basically just get free delivery without reaching a minimum total which I think is only $25 or $35... I'm wondering what the draw is in the first place? Unless I'm misunderstanding what they're offering in some way, I can always figure out what to spend $25-$35 on at Walmart lol

Rewards similar to optimum would be neat though!

Delivery is $7.97 + tax & up so it would be worthwhile if you do 13 or more deliveries a year at $100/year. I would definitely sign up. I use the delivery a lot & would use it more if it were not so much. Even better to have no minimum if all you need are some eggs or something in a hurry.

Well at least half of the benefits aren't even relevant in Canada or would be available in the first place.

-Next-day delivery would only be available in very few places. Basically all of Walmart.ca's shipping is two-day as well (the last 3 orders I've placed to be delivered to my house have taken only 2 days through FedEx).
-Grocery delivery isn't even available everywhere yet.
-Not sure if the prescription thing is even relevant, possibly not even legal in some provinces.
-There's sure as hell no Walmarts with gas stations in Winnipeg, not sure if there's even any left in Canada from when they tried it in the early 2000s. Not to mention if they went with the "Pay a membership fee to get a discount" model up here then Loblaw would eat them alive lol.
-Scan & Go also not available, and I think paying to use that service is insane.

We have the free grocery delivery here in Cambridge (via DoorDash) & they can deliver any items available in-store along with your groceries, same or next day (or longer if you want to book ahead, but stock counts get iffy the more time that passes). the grocery service is excellent & I would gladly pay a flat rate for as many deliveries as I wanted/needed. the closes store to me is Zehrs which has Loblaws prices & the prices have all gone up since covid due to their stringent anti-covid standards. Walmart is more economical even when delivery is factored in, & the produce has been great.

So what did you discover when you asked Wal Mart? They're the ones who can tell you the why and if there will be a when.

The lack of PMs suck obviously, but the last straw for me was the lack of cashiers.
There should never be 30 people in line waiting.

Nowadays I treat Walmart as a giant convenience store. Open late, large variety of goods, decent locations.
I'll shop there a couple times a year picking up things that I can't get immediately anywhere else. But for any "real" shopping I'll pick literally any other store.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

Paramount+'s blockbuster show is Yellowstone with Kevin Costner but you can get that free with the competitor, Amazon Prime.

I was like that, till I discovered that their grocery prices are lower than superstore near me, for same items.

That might be how it is in Canada, but that's not how it is in the US. Yellowstone streams on Peacock, and has to be purchased on Amazon Video.

Also referring to one as "free", but not the other, is kind of weird.

OK< free after you pay $9.99+tax a month lol.

It is just a question if you prefer the shipping + streaming pkg of 1 over the other.

I streamed Yellowstone on Prime earlier this year with no extra fees/trials. I am pretty sure it is Paramount which is garbage otherwise. Lots of wife swapping garbage.
