Found this on Walmart - IMO, its blazing hot considering what sport and tech enthusiasts can do with it and how much this is retailing for at other places.
It think this is the first gen model but still a wicked discounted price.

Shipped by Lifegear listed with Walmart and can be shipped to store for pickup.

Yes.. it's the first gen, new one comes with a "handle"

Seller is third party, return policy is crap so be careful

quality of pictures is not the best but a lot of fun posting 360 pictures on Facebook for that price!

Not a bad price. It's actually a higher res sensor compared to the second gen but this model overheats (I have one) and essentially requires a Samsung phone.
Only V2 works on the iPhone.

Thanks OP. Ordered one hopefully it will arrive before my trip to the US. Keeping fingers crossed.

So neither version works with other android phones, eg. LG?

This one (2016) only works with samsung phones. The 2017 version works with all android and iphones.

For photos the old one has better resolution, but for video the new one is slightly better. Not to mention the compatibility and ergonomics (more pocketable and don't need attachment to hold it).

This guy did a pretty good comparison between the two. He also did a part I of the comparison where he said the 2017 video quality being better in low light.

Please update the title. This is not sold by Walmart. It's sold on Walmart by a 3rd party and your exchange/refund/warranty is all subject to that vendor - not Walmart

I've owned both of the Samsung ones and the Xiaomi mi sphere. The Xiaomi is leagues above both Samsungs but all 3 were not much more then a toy.

The quality of photos and Video is passable on phone but not on a monitor. There aren't that many great platforms for 360. Facebook and Google photos are probably the best ones. Most of the time I just did tiny world photos.
Be a nice person and enjoy life

The price is very appealing...
Has anyone used the timelapse feature? Better or worse than a GoPro Hero 4 Black?

It's basically a 360 selfie camera because only your face turns out sharp and only in ideal lighting conditions. Out of 10 pictures I take on hikes with this camera I only keep one at most.

I stumbled upon this via Google Now feed. Am I missing something as a USA resident or is this camera deal only available to Canada?

try to order it from the link and put your address in to find out if they ship to the US or not. Good deal for Americans as it would be a little over $50 bucks plus tax and probably shipping.
