Good. Knock off another $200 and we're in target territory.

All the boxes are checked, otherwise.

UPDATE:

- 2070 (Full Version) [Credit to @TypeVR6]
- Intel Core i7-8750H [8th Gen, But Good Enough]
- 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz RAM [Upgradeable]
- 512GB PCIe SSD
- 144hz 3 ms 15.6” IPS 1920x1080 Display

In light of the non-max Q graphics card, this becomes a more attractive value proposition. There's nothing better with this price and feature set. $200 be damned.

Ya that would be living the dream. If I was in the market I would buy it at this price though.

$1499 for a 2070? That's like price error territory.
$1699 is pretty hot isn't it?

Objectively, it's pretty good, yes.

As OP says, if I were in the market, I'd already be sold as there's nothing else close to this right now.

I'm not sure they include full 2070 GPUs outside of custom or high-end low run prebuilts.

1080p144 or 1080p120 should be doable on high or ultra with the Walmart build, which should be good enough for most value enthusiasts.

Strix scars come with the full cards. I’ve had the scar 1 which had the 1070 and currently the scar 3 which also has a full 2070.

if it is max q version, really just forget about it, 2070 max q maybe just another 10% more powerful than 2060

Found a candidate, unconfirmed, at $2k.

Asus GL531GW-PB74 ROG Strix Scar G Gaming Laptop, 15.6" 120Hz FHD,GeForce RTX 2070, Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB, 512GB SSD, RGB KB

Not worth the $300 delta in my book. A little undervolting and overclocking the max Q could do well.

I have no idea what you’re goin on about.

The strix that OP has found has a regular 2070, not a max-q. I only mentioned that I have a scar 3 and previously a scar 1 - these cards come with the full not the max-q.

2070 ain't cheap. Read elsewhere the desktop card alone is $600?

But there's a reason to the low price. 8750H or anything in the Kaby Lake R generation or before suffers from Meltdown/Spectre. You may say the software mitigation slows the computer down by 3-10% but given how fast the 8750H is to begin with you may say that's fine? In any case, price is a reflection of what you are getting.
