Note that ASUS intentionally gimps their AMD laptops and this one has blocked air vents that create thermal issues:

There's a follow up where they open up the chassis a little more after ASUS said this was intentional and temps got down while clocks went up. This of course voids the warranty so not a good option.

ASUS has a history of doing this kind of things with AMD products (there's always some excuse but it keeps happening).

Those new AMD Ryzen 4000 series chips are the real deal, but buy from another OEM.

Smaller SSD than OP's... unsure how build quality compares?

Thanks!

This laptop is COMPROMISED at the moment... Check hardware unlocked video on the Asus TUF series... The intake and exhaust vent are blocked leading to extreme temperatures for cpu and GPU which will causes it to underperform by quite a margin of that cpu and gpu's full potential and also premature wear of components... And the screen is terrible in color accuracy and response times...Asus totally screwed up the tuf series....DO NOT BUY IT unless you plan on modifying the thermals...

Asus really loves doing some shady stuff on this series, now with that shitty screen and blocked vents. Some might say it is a budget for gaming and other excuses. But remember you are paying 1400$ + tax (1580 in ON) for a laptop that is suffocating on it's self by design
Still a Public Mobile customer.
Looking forward to dotmobile.

Among the recent Ryzen 4600H/4800H gaming laptops that I have seen so far, only the models from Asus have a Gen 2 (10 Gbps) USB port. Rest all (MSI, HP, Lenovo) have only Gen 1 (5 Gbps) USB ports. Also, the USB-C port on the Asus lineup supports DisplayPort in alt-mode with a DisplayPort version of 1.4 which is capable of 8K at 60 Hz. I don't know if any of the models from the other OEMs provide for DisplayPort 1.4. Dell's SE model does have a standalone DisplayPort. Something to keep in mind if connectivity is important to you.

At this price, the thermals are fixable and the laptop cooling pad is a thing for desktop replacement.

This is a beast, a true workstation replacement.
