Should the hardware upgrades be valid for people on the $35/5GB plans with Koodo, on Tab Basic? (Holding out for some sort of deal somewhere this week for the S20 Ultra for my wife!)

So:

New activation Koodo 8GB for $55 - $10 credit for 24 months + tax = $45 + tax

S20 FE for $0 upfront + $25 x 24 months + tax - $300 WM GC = $378 taxes in

(May also work with Koodo 4GB for $45 - $10 credit for 24 months + tax = $35 + tax)

Yes, for example:

Existing customer upgrade on Koodo $35/5GB PM migration plans:

A51 for $0 upfront + $10 x 24 months + tax - $200 WM GC = $71.2 taxes in

EDIT: As cappaj pointed out below, this is likely wrong. A51 is $240 +tax upfront on Tab Basic.

Would that be only for Tab Mid or Tab Plus? We're on Tab Basic with that plan - for A51, Koodo site shows $0 upfront for Tab Mid/Plus, but $240 upfront for Tab Basic.

You're probably right. Earlier post updated.

Koodo is a 2nd tier brand under Telus. It's similar to Virgin being a 2nd tier brand under Bell. So whatever the reception is like with Telus will be the same with Koodo as it's the same tower under the same network.

What about the $45 activation fees for a new Fido line , is it waived @Walmart?

I got S20 FE (Koodo) yesterday from Walmart with $300 gift card. They waived the connection fee but didn't give $10 dollar bill credit. Does anyone here got the bill credit?

Too bad nothing on the iPhone SE (2020).

I'd almost jump on the iPhone 8 if there were decent plans but I feel like I'd rather stick with my current 2GB PM @ $26 ($30 - $3). I wish they had another migration offer to bump up to 4GB @ $35 with $20 for the first year like they did a while back. I don't need the extra data, but the price was decent. Now everything is north of $40 plus the tab charge so far less enticing (at least for me).

If anyone hears of any deals around that $30-$40 with a good discount on the phone, please do share.

Nice. Thanks OP. Glad to see that we still have someone on the inside.

Can I ask: For Freedom, any deals on renewals on the S20 5G (not the FE) or Pixel 5 for plans that have an original price of $50?

For Koodo plans that are only eligible for tab basic, do the gift cards still apply on an upgrade? Is there any option for doing better than tab basic without switching plans?
