Not sure what the difference is. I see other models at other retailers.
KF7000. 82.99 at BBB
KF7150. 95.99 at Costco
KF7170. 99.99 at Amazon.

I think the Walmart one may be the 7170? Or an older version of it.

I've had mine for 3 or so years now and I'm still quite happy with this machine. Good quality product minus some of the words on the buttons have begun to rub off.

Still producing hot coffee no issues.

If 60$+ more is worth it for the SS look, auto clean and the brand name.....
Not sure how else its different other than that vs the basic 15-30$ ones....Sunbeam and what not

EDIT - just saw its got a 3 year warranty...that was kind of surprising to see but ive never heard of any basic coffee maker not lasting more than 10 years lol....to be honest ive never heard anyone saying theres has broken..outside of the floater ball getting stuck due to buildup and not cleaning it..very simple items

Get the Braun MultiServe instead. It's SCA approved, meaning it brews coffee up to stringent specs, including brew temp, the amount of water saturation in the basket and brew time. Most machines do not brew in the 195 to 205 F degree range, which is one of the most important things about brewing coffee, aside from bean quality and grinder. Other possibilities are the Bonavita, Technivorm etc. Just go on the SCA site and see which machines have it. BTW, I've tested this Braun machine in the thread. It's not bad at all but I'd rather have the Multiserve, which I've had as well.

I got an all black one from Costco a couple years back for around $69 on sale. It’s been reliable but the ‘brew’ button is starting to wear like a prior poster said.

One thing I had to get used to is that there is no ‘brew complete’ sound like I had with my Osters before. If that doesn’t bug you, then it’s a solid buy.

I tried this due to fond memories of a Braun I had in the 80s.

Not even close. Very mediocre results.

I find the big issue with coffee makers like these is by the time the water gets to the brew head it’s too cold to brew properly. My theory is that this is more pronounced with 10 and 12 cup brewers.

For example the little Cuisinart 4 cup makes excellent coffee.

It’s a good coffee maker, but not worth the premium. I owned it before and went back to my old cheap coffee maker.
