Thanks OP! With Amazon being eligible for return, its a great price to try them out finally, see if I like them.

A bit less than the SDM offer.

Breakdown

SDM: 779.99 - 150 credit for super redemption when redeeming 500k points = 629.99
Less 45k points back on CM promo = 584.99
HST (ON) on $779.99 = 101.4
Net cost = 686.39

Amazon: 599+HST = 676.87
Less 2.5% CB with Amazon MC and Prime $17.16
Net cost = 659.71

Looking forward to trying them out :)

A bit more than the SDM offer (500k points for $650, stacked with 45k for 125 or more) but well worth it for the return eligibility.

Looking forward to trying them out :)
Maybe if Shoppers marks them down to $599, I'll finally have something to spend my points on. Things kept going out of stock right before I was about to buy them this weekend.

Just corrected myself, Amazon is actually cheaper, hell will freeze over before SDM matches Amazon

No, it is much cheaper at Shoppers. You buy it during the online 20X events. Three such events have passed since they were added to the store.

You get 233700 points which is close enough to redeeming for 400. So you can treat this as a 1.6 multiplier to apply a proportionate amount.

$779*Tax - (779*15*20/1000*1.6) = $499 after tax

Or if you don't want to count bonus redemption, then $779*Tax - 233 = 639.

To add: It should go without saying you don't buy items over 400 during super bonus redemption days.

SDM With 20x:

779.99 + HST (ON) :101.4 = 881.39

receive 20x pts (233,700) 1:1 value = 647.69
PC World MC bonus (7,790) 1:1 value = 639.90
PC World Elite bonus (15580) 1:1 value = 632.11

If you wait for super redemption at 1.6 value (233,700*1.6) it would be $508.39 all in.
PC World MC bonus at 1.6x = 495.01
PC World Elite MC bonus at 1.6x = 482.55

Note (for me at least) usually 20x offers are in store only for the most part.

In the case presented currently its cheaper.

Wouldn’t pay more than $400 for these but that’s personal opinion.

FYI the online 20X are never targeted. It's a bannered event.

What is the appeal of these? They are incredibly expensive and ugly as sin. Remind me of the noise cancelling headphone things that people wear when mowing lawns

Brand loyalty and a fashion accessory basically. I would rather get the new airpods over this tbh.
I took a little journey to the unknown
And I've come back changed I can feel it in my bones
I chased RFD deals that many can't see
Now the 50% off pizza deal got a hold on me

@Hahahapxl you might want to update the heading and add the word Headphones in case those who don't know might confuse these for being the buds (even though the price would not make any sense).

Tbh I have the airpod pros and I’m not that impressed….

I’ve been looking for a over the ear set of phones, and I’ve tried a few pairs of Bose, AT, and Sens.
I was gonna try them out at this price point, for an Apple device, it’s the best discount you’re going to get, unless a 20x deal comes around at SDM.

At least with Amazon you’re more flexible on the return process, though we’ll see.

So odd as ive heard regular airpods are just average, and the massive ear cup + oddly shaped head cushion is just... not a good statememt to make lol

Edit: for whatever reason I can’t find this when I go back to check again so I have no idea anymore.
But according to Dhanushan’s post below it should be returnable

I bought from Amazon (ships and sold by Amazon) and definitely don't have this notation on my order.

Having tried these, I'm a bit disappointed in the sound. The sound is smooth, and bass has the right emphasis (the right amount sub-bass, not too much mid bass), but the mids are a bit subdued. You can tell technically the detail is there but they tuned these to be warm/relaxed sounding.

So tonally, it's a bit of a miss. If there was an EQ adjustment, I could probably get the sound to the way I like it, but right now, I'd prefer my Bose QC35 II over the sound of the Airpods Max with stock settings.

And they are definitely heavy headphones. Not sure I would like wearing these for any length of time. I would consider them if they made a lighter version with plastic earcups and cheaper price. I think it's more likely that they will get discontinued instead of a V2 version.
This is RedFlagDeals, not RedFlagCheapskates. Rich or poor, we all want our deals so we can buy even more stuff we may or may not need.
