[Walmart] Commodore Expert Pellet Smoker (50%) 269$ in store WMMV

They started to reduce BBQ at my local Walmart and got the Commodore Pellet Smoker for 269$.

I have assembled and used it today and it actually not a bad pellet smoker for 269$. Metal heavier than I would expect weight about 150 lbs. External probe and can be controlled using Bluetooth.

Bought in Gatineau, La Gappe Store, had 4 left.

The quality of the BBQs that Walmart sells, I am not sure half price is low enough. Some of the metal is less solid than soup can.
Koodo $40/6GB
Public Mobile $40/15GB, $35/20GB, lot less with rewards

For the price it's a great introduction to pellet grills.

Interesting. Looks good for the price, but would you expect it to rust out or have an auger failure within a couple years?

Not sure about pellet BBQ, but i have been using 4+1 burner Expert Grill from Walmart. it is 60000 BTU and works perfectly fine. The assembly guide was not so elaborative, but once assembled it is very good grill in just 228$+ Tax.

Have used it multiple times and this is at par with any other costly grill.

I know looks are not of steel and this is black grill but i am ok with the work and end result.

Thanks OP.
I was hesitant since I am normally a Weber only guy, but I've been tip toing on the idea of a pellet grill for a while. I have a WSM and I don't use it as much as I would like to. I read a lot of Reddit posts on this grill and there are a couple hacks (high temp gasket around the door and clamps to hold the door in tightly and lose less smoke) that have been successful.

I know this isn't going to be the best but it'll make a good starter and then I can go from there.

In for 1!

This also happens on a $4k Yoder. Some need to paint yearly. Bunch of us bought the princess auto ones without regret Thumbs Up Sign. I'm still waiting for mine to die to upgrade for Wi-Fi. I understand your hesitancy though

Can't seem to order online with curbside pickup. Price stays at the regular amount. Guess it's meant to be that I don't buy another grill.

As some have mentioned, this is a good entry into pellet grills. I bought a small portable Pit Boss from Canadian Tire when they went on sale for 299 and loved them over my older Masterbuilt that I used with a pellet tray. Months later, I ordered the OG from Grilla Grills and have been using it 5x a week since getting it. Careful, this gateway purchase will start you on a slippery (but tasty) slope :)
Please don't ask or beg for "thanks". Don't act like this is Facebook. If someone found your post helpful, let them decide if they want to make that click. The more you beg, the less you'll get. Cheers

Great purchase, I've been eyeing a chimp but looks like the GMG DC will win out.

Had a look at that assembly video. Reminds me of how they packaged gas barbeques 25 years ago. I wonder how many pieces I will have left over if I buy this one. The price is tempting though... Thanks OP.

Probably the easiest cheap BBQ I have assembled so far, everything was fitting together no extra part lol. Main cooking chamber and peller hopper assembly already assembled, mainly what left to do is the legs, shelve, handle.

There reviews on youtube and one guys did mesure the metal gauge, this is not heavy like a Yoder, but alot thicker than tin can. There a 2 year warranty, the email seem to be pointing to NexGrill.

I have used it for a few cook, so far so good, this will replace my portable Asmoke. The taste doesn't beat my offset, but pellet is so convenient.

Ran across this deal on Stocktrack, picked one up and then was going to post here but found this thread.

Maybe add "pellet smoker" to the title? I ignored it when posted as a "grill" but would have been all over it as a pellet smoker. Thanks.

Picked one up and used it yesterday. Seemed to work pretty well. Good first try.

there is a two year warranty, but the manual says it is only valid in the states. There was a 2 year warranty offered at Wal-Mart for $30.

Used mine for the first time today. First 4 hours of smoking went well, then I reduced the temp from 250* F to 225* F. The temp dropped to 130* then went up to 300* before I turned it off and put the meat in the oven to finish.

Also the Bluetooth was only good for about 2m rather than the 50m advertised. Both were problems noted in some of the bad reviews.

I contacted the company and a replacement control board will be shipped to me soon. Hopefully that will move me from a 1-star to a 5-star review.

Got a good tip from an experienced smoker: remove the Searing Station Pull Handle and cover the Grease Drain Pan in foil. Just make sure the foil conforms to the shape so that the grease will still drain to the sides then to the end. Clean up was just a matter of balling up the foil.

Assembled in just under an hour tonight. No extra parts. Actually impressed with the quality considering the source, seems very solid. Wondering how long the touchscreen will last in weather though. Trout this weekend.
